Confession Time| not everything is at it seems to be on the surface | lesson 101

I was reminded of something, not everything seems as it is.

I read a good blog post the other day.
Someone had commented about that specific post, which not knowing the responder, I read their comment through my grid work. Outwardly, the repliers response was doctrinal wrong.

Being a tender spot on my heart biblically and having gone through the experience, I commented. I usually don’t, but this time I did.

The writer of this blog wrote back. Longer story shorter. Come to find out the person who left the comment was kidding around. He himself was a pastor teasing another pastor (the writer of the blog I read).

Who would have known? I didn’t. Anyone reading the comment left by the replier would have thought this guy was off his rocker, Biblically speaking.

I could beat myself up for not knowing either one of these gentlemen, writer of the blog or the commentor, but I am not going too.

What I do take from this lesson is this: not everything is at it seems to be on the surface. These guys seem to be two friends just razzing each other on this certain topic.

  • I could have asked the one gentleman who commented what he meant instead of assuming he had it all wrong.
  • I could have given him the benefit of the doubt and been patient in my own reply towards him.
  • Was I wrong. No. I was spot on Biblically.
  • Was I hasty in my reply. Yes, I was.

Are there things we know? Yes. Do we have experience in specific areas and in Christ? Yes. Has God taught us things? Yes. Is God teaching and molding us now? Yes.

All these things are wonderful indeed, but they never give us the option of not bring cautious or use carefulness to our speech, thoughts, or actions. God never give us license to use our knowledge, speech or gifts for our own purposes.

Even though my desire to comment was for Truth and justice it lacked patience and love. I am very thankful for this lesson my heart needed. Thankful for God’s passion for my soul, grace my soul needs, and His continued work in me. He’s not finished with me yet, but I desire to be willing and moldable to His will and way.

How about you?

In Christ I am SHE {Saved. Hopeful. Empowered.}
