the Baby Leaped…

Wednesday I had finished up the book of Isaiah in my personal devotions; Thursday afternoon the Lord redirected me to Luke. I wasn’t sure why at first, but I started reading. Then I came to verse 41 and my eyes read it in a new light.

…”when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb…”

I froze.

I guess because my senses are on high alert with New York’s announcement of celebration to their new law of freedom to murder innocent babies.

  • Now the state of Vermont has their own “zero limitation” bill which they’re seeking to pass into law (as of 1.24.2019 not passed).

Here, young pregnant Mary (the mother of Jesus) enters into the house of Zacharias and Elisabeth. As Mary opens her mouth to greet Elisabeth, the baby within Elisabeth’s womb leaps.

  • A baby within the womb can hear — it can hear its mother and those around him or her outside of the womb.
  • A baby within the womb responds — it leaped! A baby within the womb hears and responses to touch.

Mary and Elisabeth converse.

In verse 44 we are specifically told again:

…”as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

  • “Sounded in mine ears” — a mother and child are bonded together. Abortion doesn’t just kill a child it kills the mother from the inside out. Psalm 139 tells us how God sees how we are knitted and fashioned together. How we are wonderfully made…in the image of God.
  • For JOY…a baby within the womb feels — a baby has emotions. Feeling also includes pain and love.

Later in the day, I came across a statement that said something to this affect (author unknown):

39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah; 40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. 41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord (Luke 1).

Do you Believe in Miracle?

  • …and God made the miracle of You!
  • In Psalm 139, it says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, that God formed us (knit us, fashioned us) in our mother’s womb — His hands were the master Creator.
  • Shine my friend! For you are just as much of a miracle as our blue planet that circles around a ball of fire next to a moon that moves the sea. đź‘‘

Does God Smile?

  • So…does God smile when He sees you?
  • Does God smile when He thinks of you?

The awesome answer to both of those questions are a numberous times YES!!!! If you doubt it, take your Bible or a concordance, or go online and type in that search bar ‘Bible verses about God’s love’ or ‘Jesus Christ’s love’…anything to do with the love of the Father. Stick in a version if you want: I recommend the KJV, NKJV, NASB, and the AMP. Read, verse by verse, for yourself and see how much God has loved you, is loving you and will love you for all eternity.

Today we will look at Psalm 139. What a pure, goosebump, humbling, demonstrate of who and what God is: Omnipresence (all present) and Omniscience (all knowing). God is forever unchangeable; therefore, unable to form character flaws, misuse character traits, or do anything contrary against Himself. His is purity in all aspects. Let’s read some of Psalm 139.

“O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up [my entire life, everything I do]; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and You are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue [still unspoken], behold, O Lord, you know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before, and [You have] placed Your hand upon me. Such [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high [above me], I cannot reach it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? …Even the darkness is not dark to You and conceals nothing from You, but the night shines as bright as the day; darkness and light are alike to You. For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being formed in secret, and intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors] in the depths of the earth. Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were appointed for me. When as yet there was not one of them [even taking shape]. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I could count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You…Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my anxious thoughts. And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.”

  • Never question God’s love for you, regardless of how you may feel or what others may say!
  • God’s love for you has always been and always will be.
  • Remember friend, when God sees you…YOU MAKE GOD SMILE!
  • Remember friend, when God thinks of you…YOU MAKE GOD SMILE!
  • YOU are His creation! God loves you!
