Why Being God-Proactive Matters @ Home and Church.

  • The devil is at war.
  • He sees you, a saved soul, as target, bait, to aim and destroy, to distract.
  • He sees God as his number one enemy and will get to him through you at any cost.

Beware believer!

  • Don’t be deceived by the devil’s tactics, lures, deceptions, or temptations. It is not greener on his side…regardless of the glorious picture he displays.
  • Don’t be saved from fire, be saved by grace through faith that not of ourselves it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
  • Christ died that we may have life in Him; life lived abundantly, free through Christ Jesus.

Walk in Him. Fight the flesh. Obey the Word. Don’t be a pawn in the deceiver’s hand.

The devil may laud your praises, claim or profess his allegiance to your pleasures, wants, or desires, but remember he is not your friend. His end goal is to seek and to destory (1 Peter 5:8).

You, my friend, are empowered through Jesus Christ…now go! Live in Him!

Let Us Love

“Little children” is not solely referring to little people as we may think.

We could interpret it like this, “Dear ones” or “Believers” let us not merely love in theory with words or through our tongue (speech) by giving lip service; but rather by action and truth practiced with sincere love because acts of love are more than words.

the Light

Darkness loves darkness. Darkness feeds on darkness. It’s a fact. Shine any light, or truth on darkness (that would include a person living in a dark-filled life) and that darkness squirms in discomfort. Darkness hates the truth, it hates to be revealed (that’s why it loves darkness to cloak it’s real purpose); sin hates light. Darkness is a user.

  • That “Light” is Jesus Christ.
  • That “Truth” is God’s Word.

Shine any light source in a dark place, lite a candlestick in a dark room, use the moon to guide you out at sea, turn on a flashlight in the middle of a dark forest and you will see…the Truth (God’s Word) will set you free…you will see (John 8:31-32).

Darkness does not understand the Light, it will reject the Light when revealed, darkness even displays itself as light but claims you once discovered, but the Light is not overpowered by the darkness, the Light is not absorb by the darkness, the Light is not unreceptive to the darkness…the Light shines! For with the Light all may see if they believe in Him, Jesus Christ.

Remember who we said the Light is, Jesus Christ.

  • Do you know who the source of darkness is? Satan, or the devil (same thing). He has great influence upon this world which causes “darkness” in the lives of people. Satan is not your friend. The sin he says will bring you happiness (2 Corinthians 11:14) will be your destruction, because he seeks to destroy (1 Peter 5:8), not save you (Luke 19:10) like the Light does (Jesus Christ). Satan’s day will end, so will darkness. The Light’s day will never end.

You may be living in darkness, you may feel as though your life is dark or there is no way out, you may be consumed by a certain sin, or find yourself filled with guilt or depression…look to the Light! To live in the Light is to truly live (John 10:10).

The darkness only has power over you when you give it power; it doesn’t need to consume or destroy you.

  • Allow the Light (Jesus Christ) to come into your life and give you life. If you have more question click here.

Do You Know of Such a City?

Do you know of such a city?

Do you know of such a town?

Do you know of such a village?

Do you know of such a people?

Do you know of such a person?

If not, maybe that someone should start with you

  • You could reach one person with the Gospel of Christ.
  • Together, the two of you could reach people.
  • Those people could reach a village and a village a town.
  • A town of people, because of one man’s willful obedience to God, could reach a city.

It’s just a thought…God is looking.

Meet Jim

Jim Thorp

I remember seeing the signs for Jim Thorpe growing up in Pennsylvania. I remember driving passed the town named after him many times as a girl. But it wasn’t until I was older that I realized who he was – or what he did.

If you look closely at the photo, you will notice that Jim is wearing two different socks and shoes. I know today, our kids included, like to wear different pairs of socks – because it’s a cool and fun thing to do. But for Jim, he wasn’t making a fashion statement or setting a new trend here, he was fulfilling.

Jim was an American Indian from Oklahoma and he represented the United States of America in the 1912 Olympics. On the morning of his competitions, his shoes were stolen.

Story is told, it was either Jim or his coach ended up finding replacement shoes by rooting through a garbage can – the same ones you see him wearing in this picture. They weren’t a perfect fit; in fact, they were two different shoes and one of them was too big in size. To ensure a better “fit” Jim wore an extra sock on that foot with the ‘big’ shoe.

Jim competed as planned. Wearing the garaged found shoes, an extra sock and representing the United States of America. Jim won two gold medals that day in 1912.

I can think a several reason why Jim could have handed in the towel that day, some were very personal. I can’t help but think many of us, if placed in his shoes, would have pretty quickly given up, but Jim didn’t.

  • What an example of staying the course.
  • What an example of actively running the race that is set before him.
  • What an example of not giving into the excuse’s life handed him that day. Life sometimes throws you lemons, doesn’t it? Life isn’t always fair. Life can be glorious. Life can hurt. Life “steals” your shoes sometimes, doesn’t it?

Jim didn’t resign to the excuse of “I have no shoes.” No, instead Jim said, “I have a race to run.” There was no option – he found shoes.

Jim lived proactive: the results:

  1. Jim raced.
  2. Jim won 2 gold medals.

How about you? How are you running your race of life?

  • Don’t let your “stolen shoes” stop you from running the race the Lord has set before you.
  • Only you can run the race He has set before you – because there is only one you!
  • If you don’t fulfill it, no one will.

Jim fulfilled his that day. Will you fulfill yours today?

Read with me in Hebrews,

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” Hebrews 12:1-3.

I don’t know who was Jim’s example, but I do know who needs to for us.

Paul wrote, “…But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:13-14.

Is Jesus your example?

Life “steals” your shoes sometimes, but Jesus is the life-giver. Which one will you put your stock in?

Run for Christ! Run.

Are You Casting?

  • Are you heavy burdened?
  • Are you cast down?
  • Are you cumbered about?

There is Someone (God) in whom you can run too, cling too, cast your cares upon, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8), therefore, unchangeable.

  • God is steadfast.
  • God is trustworthy.
  • God is not man, remember that!
  • God loves and cares for YOU

CAST, my friend!

Cast upon one source, the source of Christ Jesus our Lord. He is the only One who can sustain, fill, complete, or set you free. Christ in you is the answer.

CAST!

Do You Spur?

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” Hebrews 10:24-25.

Spurring one another in Jesus Christ.

Which Reins do You Hold?

The struggle is real!

We all struggle with some form of control.

  • For some, the struggle is real; so real; it is daily. The controller feeds off the vibrate, enthusiastic, satisfying, endorfen-filled adrenaline. Control within them covers depths of internal pain and unresolved sin, yet like a leech it cries out for ‘more, more, MORE!’
  • While others use control as an external weapon. They are violent. They abuse (mentally, emotionally, or physically) because they themselves have never dealt with their internal noises or sins. They have become mean and completely self absorbed.
  • For others, it comes more like a season or a storm. The ‘occasional’ that blooms and will blossom if not kept in check before a righteous and holy God; where repentance and forgiveness are sought, asked, and given.

The fact of the matter is — if you have a pulse, you struggle with control at some point in your life.

Jesus said…”I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil” (Proverbs 3:5-7).

The question is — will you continue to hold your reins and think you’ll enjoy the ride of life or take hold of God’s reins and enjoy His ride?
