a Walk of Peace

I just wanted to share with you the beauty God has placed my family and I in…all I have to do is walk outside and look.

As I walked around my camera was clicking away. After about a half hour I stopped to sit under the willow tree on our bench.

I couldn’t help but be in awe. The breeze was blowing my hair everywhere and I noticed the sky. I couldn’t help myself — I found my eyes “looking up.”

I began walking again, but this time my gaze was up. Here I was, in the middle of such peaceful beauty while just beyond the trees lie a world in such turmoil: some fighting for their lives while others fear for their lives. And others in exhaustion yet freely giving of themselves with no regard of their life, while some display sheer selfishness. And more have entered into the gates of eternity.

It was such a contrast. There I stood, looking up into that vast blue sky powerless yet awefilled with thankfulness that God is infinitely powerful.

All I could do was pray.

So today, in the midst of whatever you are walking through — enjoy His handiwork.

From our backyard to yours.

How’s Your Walk?

…for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]—2 Corinthians 5:7.

We’ve all been there.

At time we know actually what the Lord desires or wants of us. We see and understand His will and it is easier to accept.

But when there is no light at the end of the tunnel, when there is no human understanding, when there is no answer does that change 2 Corinthians 5:7?

The answer is no.

What is faith?

To walk by faith we need to know what faith is. What is looks like. How is works. We find the answers in His Word.

Does faith require our understanding? No, but it does require our choice of action to obey Him.

You’re got the power. Are you using it?

Security Belongs to the One Who Trusts in the Lord.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”
3 For He will save you from the trap of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and a wall.5 You will not be afraid of the terror of night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,

6 Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But danger will not come near you.
8 You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyes and witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High].
9 Because you have made the Lord, [who is] my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent.

11 For He will command His angels in regard to you, to protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

12 They will lift you up in their hands,
So that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and cobra; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 “Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him;
I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].
15 “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
16 “With a long life I will satisfy him
And I will let him see My salvation.”

Psalm 91 (AMP)

There is much happening globally and nationally right now as you are well aware of.

  • We do well to heed to wise counsel, use caution and act prudently during this time.
  • Taking proper measures doesn’t mean lack of faith, but putting our trust in them, does!

We must not forget who our trust should be in. No amount of hand sanitizer or isolation will supercede the protection, power or will of God Almighty.

So today, I challenge you to purposely nurture your soul.

  • Turn the news off
  • Turn the notifications off
  • Turn the radio off
  • Turn off the things that distract you from God and purposely spend extra time at the feet of Jesus.
  • Fill your soul with the One who can heal, provide, and protect you.

No virus is bigger than God. In a word He could eradicate whatsoever He wills, it is our responsibility to trust Him and obey Him.

  • Want security?
  • Want protection?
  • Want answers?
  • Scared?
  • Fearful?
  • Don’t know what to do?

Psalm 91 is a good start.

P.S. There is a wonderful promise in this chapter. It is given abundantly to those who are dependent upon the conditions stated in the first two verses. Just is case you wondered…♥️

Be Holy by Coffee & Prayer

This morning in my devotional time,
I was reading an online study called “It’s Time to Reset” by coffeeandprayeruk. May it be a blessing to your soul as it was to mine.

As much as we are to grow in the understanding of God’s love for us, we must also be in pursuit of holiness.

To be holy means to be set apart or separate from sin and evil.

Holiness is not a message we hear often these days but it’s an essential part of our walk with God. Without holiness, we are unable to see God.

We are made holy through the finished work of Christ [His death, burial and resurrection] (Hebrews 10:10). However, we are also called to live a life that is holy. So, God calls us holy but still commands us to be holy.

Our ability to be holy is not a way to earn salvation because salvation is a gift from God, which we receive by faith. (Ephesians 2:8)

Holiness has to be continuously followed, put on and lived out in our daily lives. It is a work of God in us through the Holy Spirit, that enables us to demonstrate holiness outwardly.

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” – Philippians 2:13

Ephesians 4:24 encourages us to put on our new self, this involves effort and choice.

Yes, we are still vulnerable to sin, however we also have to choose and make an effort not to sin because of our new nature in Christ.

How much effort are you making to live a holy life?

Prayer Points

  • Ask God to help you to live a life that is honourable to Him.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the areas in your relationships/character/conversations, that do not honour the Father.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of sin and lead you into all truth.
  • Ask God to work in you by way of His Spirit, so that you can bare fruit of His Spirit.

  • Ephesians 1:4-7
  • 1 Peter 1:15-16
  • 1 Peter 2:9-12
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
  • Ephesians 4:24
  • Romans 6:22-23
