the Light

Darkness loves darkness. Darkness feeds on darkness. It’s a fact. Shine any light, or truth on darkness (that would include a person living in a dark-filled life) and that darkness squirms in discomfort. Darkness hates the truth, it hates to be revealed (that’s why it loves darkness to cloak it’s real purpose); sin hates light. Darkness is a user.

• That “Light” is Jesus Christ.
• That “Truth” is God’s Word.

Shine any light source in a dark place, lite a candlestick in a dark room, use the moon to guide you out at sea, turn on a flashlight in the middle of a dark forest and you will see…the Truth (God’s Word) will set you free…you will see (John 8:31-32).

Darkness does not understand the Light, it will reject the Light when revealed, darkness even displays itself as light but claims you once discovered, but the Light is not overpowered by the darkness, the Light is not absorb by the darkness, the Light is not unreceptive to the darkness…the Light shines! For with the Light all may see if they believe in Him, Jesus Christ.

Remember who we said the Light is, Jesus Christ.

• Do you know who the source of darkness is? Satan, or the devil (same thing). He has great influence upon this world which causes “darkness” in the lives of people. Satan is not your friend. The sin he says will bring you happiness (2 Corinthians 11:14) will be your destruction, because he seeks to destroy (1 Peter 5:8), not save you (Luke 19:10) like the Light does (Jesus Christ). Satan’s day will end, so will darkness. The Light’s day will never end.

You may be living in darkness, you may feel as though your life is dark or there is no way out, you may be consumed by a certain sin, or find yourself filled with guilt or depression…look to the Light! To live in the Light is to truly live (John 10:10).

The darkness only has power over you when you give it power; it doesn’t need to consume or destroy you.
