Dear Believer,

As a Christian, we are called to live in godliness and in Truth — God’s Truth. Regardless of what side of the fence you sit on, that doesn’t change the Truth in God’s Word. We are to be walking in the ways of our Lord and be actively obeying His Word in all things.

Ezekiel wrote, “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one” (22:30).

  • Believer, we are to be that “one” — those who stand in the gap, those who lift up their leaders (those within our church and those without) before the Throne of Grace; pleading before our Father, interceding for them, that God would continue to work in the midst for His glory.

It isn’t about what party you prefer. When you boil it down, it isn’t even about you or me. It is all about walking in obedience to the One we call, Abba Father, and actively do what He commands.

Our President has asked, once again, for prayer, for wisdom this week. Did you scoff at him? Did you laugh or complain because you know better? Or did you get on your knees? Did you take his name and his requests before the only One who can give such answers.

Did you pray for the man?

Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “I ask that our people devote themselves in a continuance of prayer. As we rise to each new day, and again when each day is spent, let words of prayer be on our lips.”

Don’t take my word for it:

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14
  • Job 12:23-25
  • Psalm 2:10-11
  • Proverbs 2:1-8
  • Proverbs 11:14
  • Proverbs 21:1
  • Jeremiah 29:7
  • Romans 13:1
  • 1 Timothy 2:1-2
  • 1 Peter 2:17

Remove the fence. We are commanded to pray for those in authority over us…whether they ask for it or not, whether we like them or not.

If you find yourself stiffly upright, unwillful to put calluses on your knees, we should be asking ourselves, “Why am I living in the land of rebellious disobedience to God?”

In Christ I am SHE {Saved. Hopeful. Empowered.}
