God Does Miracles

I opened the box.

There have been many boxes opened, but this one. This one, has been specially wrapped and packaged.

For the very first time in over a month, it is sitting in front of me. Unwrapped. Opened. The keys under my fingertips. I hear the pitter-patter as my fingers touched the key pads, my eyes look into the glare of the screen. My laptop.

The urge has been simmering within. The longing growing. The availability of time has been slowly opening itself up in allowing more time to avail itself opportunities to think and write…and ponder.

You see, God has done a wonder in and for our family. One that I bow and fall in thanksgiving for night and day. The Lord has packed our family up and taken us from the Midwest and transplanted us back to the East, all to His glory. I sit here in awe…and yes, we see cardboard, which is all good!

  • Sometimes, I have wondered how it all happened to fall into place the way it did. Then I remember…when God is in it, His way is perfect…and it can makes your mind spin (all in a good way). There were so many details that needed to come together even before we left the Midwest, then there was the loading and unloading of moving trucks, to finally getting to our new God-place. The Lord laid all the details out so perfectly, reminding us along the way that only God could have orchestrated all these events, situations, people, places, etc, to come together for such a time as this. We saw it over and over and over again. Today, even today, we see God’s hand of wonderment working His plan out for His people and our family. There is much work to be done, we cannot sit on our laurels. No, we our His children and desire to be found faithful. Sure, the process of adjustment and getting accustomed to our new land is in motion, but we are at great peace and at no rush as we hang our pictures and empty our boxes, for God has been so good to us! God is never anything be good, all the time. Yet we cling to Christ, not ourselves, in our God-mission, for without Christ we can do nothing. May Jesus Christ be honored!

Thinking back into 2018, there were many blessings (I am thinking of some very special people & families) and yet there were some extremely difficult trials. Yet the Lord is always the same, faithful, steadfast, and true!

The Lord transplanted us for His glory, not our own. It certainly isn’t because we are somebody special, believe me, we are just an ordinary family who loves God and seeks to serve Him first (Matthew 6:33). Humanly speaking, there were times in 2018 where I thought I couldn’t go on or endure the trial another day, but again the Lord reminded me it is not my strength that wins the battle, that prevails, that carries me through…it is my weaknesses that God creates His strength in me. It is the same for all of us, that same power of Christ in you is only experienced when self is given up, relinquished, handed over.

In 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 Paul wrote about this very thing. He knew it too, “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He (God) said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

My soul, body, flesh, heart, screams YES! YES! YES! YES!!!!! For to be closer with God is worth more than anything in this world, even affliction. Yes, you heard me right. Did I like the affliction(s), that’s a BIG. FAT. NO!, but my Jesus was ever so much more deeper, real, divine, intimate, and our relationship grew like never before. The fire within me grew like wild fire that I will not turn back!

God has done this for our family. I sit here at my desk, in my room, at my laptop, in a lovely home, in a new beautiful, kind, loving state with people who are just the same and we have been swallowed up in this kindness and love…yet we are nobody special, but our God is!

God does miracles!

  • My friend, if you find yourself in a situation that seems endless, hard, terrible, or you feel like you have entered the “twilight zone” — you know what I mean when you live there or you are in an abusive relationship (this doesn’t have to be physically…if it is, this is another situation. Please seek help asap! You can get out! But did you know there are other forms of abuse as well like: verbal, mental, or emotional?) I am living proof that God is still in the business of miracles, of healing the scars of these abuses and the power of forgiveness. He can change your situation, but you have to be willing to change as well from the inside out. This can only happen through Jesus Christ! Don’t lose hope. Stand in Christ. God is listening to your tears and prayers! Listen and obey Him. Though you “feel” like you are alone, you are not alone; this the working of the devil. Isolation is the devil’s workshop. Run from it! Seek help from a trusted godly man or women, Pastor. Seek first God. There is freedom from the bondage through Jesus Christ. God’s Word is Truth. Write me if you’d like, I’d love to chat with you!!! You are free in Christ! Soar in Him!

Be the Believer Who Does…

This is such a great verse, isn’t it! Wow! I am so thankful the Lord is gracious, merciful, slow to anger with me and that His love is steadfast…it never changes.

Now before you go casting prejudgements, I know from personally experiences that I have failed in all of the above attributes, truly, I am a work in progress. And if we want to get right to pure honesty and confession time, it hits me the hardest when I am tired or stressed out (well…the stressed out is letting my flesh reign). So you see, I am first in line. So when you read on, know this.

Over the years, we have seen, heard and gone through much via the ministry of people. It has been God’s calling on our life, a calling we’d do a thousand times over again for Him. When I read this verse this morning, my heart agonizes in brokenness over sin. I am talking about the choice to choose to sin in believers here:

  • Believers choosing to not walk in graciousness towards other fellow believers; whether in words or deed.
  • Believers choosing to not walk in (God’s) mercy towards other fellow believers, but rather walk in self-absorption or pride.
  • Believers choosing not to be slow to anger towards other brothers and sisters in Christ, because they are be busy feeding their flesh; their actions speak louder than words…their flesh reigns. What comes out of the man defiles him. You cannot be filled with yourself and filled with God at the same time.
  • Believers choosing to not walk in Christ’s love, because they “cannot forgive.” Thus allowing bitterness and unforgiveness to rule and reign and quench the Spirit. You cannot grow in Christ when you do not obey God’s Word!

✝ Believer, do not be the one who makes the conscience choose to disobey God’s Word; this is a rebellious heart.

✝ Be the believer who desires and does their utmost best before God to walk in obedience putting on the attributes of God.

You have to make the choice. Choose wisely!

Who is God to You?

  • We hear.
  • We see.
  • We experience.
  • We choose.
  • We decide.
  • We deny.
  • We accept.
  • We….

Maybe, just maybe, if we chose to put ourself aside for just one moment to stop presupposing we knew who or what God is, but rather came before Him & His Word with simple child-like-wide-open unbias eye, untainted heart, and unskewed minds….maybe, just maybe, we would grasp His understanding of who and what HE IS for who and what HE SAYS HE IS, not what we think He is.

It would be then, that we would begin to understand the attributes of God. It would be then, that we would begin to hear, to see, to experience, to choose, to decide, to deny, to accept, to know God for God…prehaps like the very first time you met.

Naps: Biblical or Not?

This was just to great not to share. I saw this on a friend’s Facebook page today and I died laughing. Oh how good laughter is to the soul {Proverbs 17:22}.

See…NAPS ARE BIBLICAL! Aren’t we to be putting-on Christ? 🤗

Hope you have a smile on your face! Have a blessed day friend,

God Said it, BUT…

God said it. Written words printed in red and black.

Life giving words.

But, does that settle it?

  • We say these words so flippedly but often we mean, “God said it, but I’ll pick what I what to follow from the Bible.”
  • Or “God said it, but I have a better answer or opinion God.”

➡Proverbs 23:6-8 says, “Do not eat the bread of a selfish man, or desire his delicacies; for as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, “Eat and drink!” but his heart is not with you. You will vomit up the morsel you have eaten, and waste your compliments.” (nasb)

  • This “wicked man” also means, evil man or stingy; for he/she is like one who is inwardly calculating (Prov. 28:22).
  • As “he thinks…so he is” has the meaning of reckoning in his soul; his/her behavior, one who manipulates.
  • Not with you” means this person (the wicked man/women) is begrudging the cost.
  • Compliments” = don’t waste your pleasant words.

➡Psalm 114:4 says, “Do not incline my heart [consent to or tolerate] any evil thing, or to practice deeds of wickedness with men who plan and do evil; and let me not eat of their delicacies [be tempted by their gain].” (amp)

➡Proverbs 26:24-28 states,

Here are two over versions for our study:

CEB– Hateful people mislead with their lips,

  • keeping their deception within. Though they speak graciously, don’t believe them, for seven horrible things are in their heart. They may cover their hatred with trickery, but their evil will be revealed in public. Those who dig a pit will fall in it; those who roll a stone will have it turn back on them. A lying tongue hates those it crushes; a flattering mouth causes destruction.
  • AMP– He who hates, disguises it with his lips, but he stores up deceit in his heart. When he speaks graciously and kindly [to conceal his malice], do not trust him, For seven abominations are in his heart. Though his hatred covers itself with guile and deceit, His malevolence will be revealed openly before the assembly. Whoever digs a pit [for another man’s feet] will fall into it, And he who rolls a stone [up a hill to do mischief], it will come back on him. A lying tongue hates those it wounds and crushes, And a flattering mouth works ruin.

Either you are this man/woman or not.

  • We could make the arguments that we all struggle with sin; that we are on this side of Glory, but are we not to be entering into His rest NOW?
  • Are we not to be becoming “holy for He is holy” NOW?
  • Are we not to transformed into newness of life, NOW?
  • Weren’t we transformed into a new creature the second we accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior?

Jesus Christ isn’t fire insurance. Jesus Christ is this life NOW and in the life to come!

  • My friend, if you are a Child of God, saved by His undeserving grace yet freely given His amazing loving grace called salvation, we are NOT to be this “wicked one.”
  • We ought not to be reigning (living) in our flesh and glorying it. This is contrary to God’s perfect law, will.

How are you doing today, believer? Who is sitting on the throne of your life? Who reigns? God has much bigger plans for you. Stop. Turn to Him and repent. Live the full life in Christ He has planned for you!

You will never regret the choice of Christ!

Church…we ARE Plan A there is no Plan B

3 Simple Reasons why Church is God’s Plan A.

Here are three simple reasons why “church” is GOD’S plan A and there is no plan B in God’s book. Why we must stop kicking and screaming and questioning God’s plan. It is He that is in change. It is HIS salvation gift to us. It is His death that paid the price…NOT OURS!

    1. Church is plan A because God tells us NOT to forsake the gathering of ourselves together as believers. This is one of those hot buttons of the day and yes, I am going to talk about it! First, I’d like to say that I am truly sorry if you have been hurt, offended, or even abused in any form by the church as a whole. This is WRONG!! This is not pleasing, honoring, or glorifying to the Lord nor is it not His plan for His church.

But may I ask you a question? Have you ever bought something from a store, like meat, and got home to find out that it was bad? Did it stop you from buying meat for the rest of your life?

Have you ever had food poisoning from a restaurant? Did that stop you from ever eating out again? Most likely NOT!

SO…why is it when something “bad” at church happens we lump them all together and vow the mother of all vows that ALL Christians are hypocrites, ALL churches are filled with liars, cheaters, hypocrites, and rotten filthy sinners and we are never going back.

I want to stop right here. I understand, I know I talk with ladies who have physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually been abused by family members, unbelievers as well as believers. None are right. None should have happened (mine included), but we live in a sin-filled world and we have a choice. Yes, we have a choice even in the midst of our greatest pain, sorrow and trial. Will I use this situation to grow closer to my Heavenly Father or will I take it and grow bitter by the the day.

So often, I see “church” used as an excuse and see bitterness grow by the day and the choice to live in disobedience to God spiral from that one choice!

The bitterness will take you farther than you ever excepted to go.

Regardless of what enters of life, we are accountable before Christ. When we use people as an excuses to not obey Christ, we justify our own actions and guilt to make ourselves feel better.

I have another question to ask you. I am assuming you got over your food poisoning or got over that purchase of “bad meat.” If I opened your refrigerator door, I would find it full or at least part-way full and would come to find out that you have feasted on many meals “outside” of your home. You didn’t grow bitter at the “bad” meat. You didn’t call the store a hypocrite. You didn’t hold a grudge. You didn’t allow bitterness, people, or excuses from stopping you from shopping or eating, did you??!!

So why the double standard? Using people, excuses, our own bitterness and unforgiveness to NOT obey God is sin. If you are a child of God, you are part of plan A…you are not doing your part. You are needed, but you are choicing to missing out on God’s plan A.

Because Matthew 18 wasn’t practiced like it should have been when the offense happened, sadly, you are hurting yourself, the church, fellow believers, unbelievers, and you are hurting the cause of Christ…for what “bad meat?” That didn’t stop you before!

Reconcile that “bad meat” even if the other party doesn’t want too! Make it right before God on YOUR end!! Go and confront that offense! Seek and be ye reconciled. Forgive.

I speak from experience! I have “abuse” in my background. What kind I will not speak of at this time, but believe me when I tell you, I know! I know what I feels like, how it hurts, the anger, bitterness, the confusion, the spiral effects. But I also know the healing power of God in ones heart and life. I know the comfort and release of walking in obedience to the Father and it is worth it all! I would do it a thousand times over!

It is one of the hardest things you will ever do, but it is one of the most spirit-freeing (bondage releasing) God+you experience you will ever do, because when you walk in trust and obedience, God blesses! You NEVER go wrong walking in obedience to Christ….NEVER!

    Hebrews 10:25

    2. The very second you accepted Christ as your personal Savior, He gave you at least one spiritual gift, at least one. You may have more! Do you know your spiritual gift or gifts? Do you know God wants that gift or gifts to be used? Yeppers, you guessed it! For Him, for His Glory in His Church!

I hear the question already, can you use your God-given gift in other places? Sure! But the primary place is where He wants, within His Church. Again, this is not our plan or trying to make our plan work…this is God’s plan. We either obey and do or not!

    I Peter 4:10-11

    3. Church is Plan A because it is the only plan! We are to be proclaiming, mouthpieces, ambassadors, of what and who God is and what He has done for us to everyone soul we come in contact with. To fail to accomplish the great commission is to live in disobedience to Christ.

    Matthew 28:18-20

    • The bottom line is this: God’s Word is clear. The choice is in your hands…your heart.
    • How will you choose to walk before the very God who gave you your eternal life?

    In Christ I am SHE {Saved. Hopeful. Empowered.}

    Excuses, excuses: validation or not?

Confession time here…tiredness leads to stress for me. They are not a good combo. Over the years, by God’s grace, it is something both learned and to be aware of.

I don’t know about you, but for us, life is full. A good kind of full, but nevertheless, full. Truly, God is good; that goodness is not our right, but a gift graciously given to us by God to His children.

God never promised pain-free or mountaintop-highs.

In all our blessings, opportunities, trials, and testings, honestly, we get tired; sometimes utterly exhausted.

Without Christ, our attitude of choice becomes unChrist-like, doesn’t it?

Tiredness (for me stress must be added to this statement) gives us no right, no authority, no excuse to act, live, speak, or think carnally. None!

    Ouch!

You will find no Scripture verse that gives the license to walk flesh-like while claiming Christ regardless of your weakness.

A question we could ask ourselves is this: “Am I living in the flesh or the Spirit right now?”

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the list of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that we cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law…and they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” Galatians 5:16-25.

Thy Will Be Done: You are God & I am Not

Thy will be done. Though I may never understand why my broken heart is apart of your plan; though my mind and heart may not agree; though my circumstances around me may scream otherwise; though my flesh may fail me and my spirit challenged beyond words, may my heart, soul, mind, thoughts, actions pray…THY WILL be done for YOU are GOD and I am NOT!

    THY WILL

written by: Hillary Scott; The Scott Family

    (1) I’m so confused
I know I heard you loud and clear
    So, I followed through
    Somehow I ended up here
    I don’t wanna think
    I may never understand
That my broken heart is a part of your plan
    When I try to pray
All I’ve got is hurt and these four words

    Thy will be done
    Thy will be done
    Thy will be done

    (2) I know you’re good
But this don’t feel good right now
And I know you think Of things,
I could never think about, It’s hard to count it all joy, Distracted by the noise, Just trying to make sense, Of all your promises
    Sometimes I gotta stop
    Remember that you’re God
    And I am not
    So…
Thy will be done, Thy will be done, Thy will be done

(Refrain) Like a child on my knees all that comes to me is
    Thy will be done
    Thy will be done
    Thy will…

    I know you see me
I know you hear me, Lord
    Your plans are for me
    Goodness you have in store
    I know you hear me
I know you see me, Lord
    Your plans are for me
Good news you have in store

    So, thy will be done
    Thy will be done
    Thy will be done
Like a child on my knees all that comes to me is
    Thy will be done
    Thy will be done
    Thy will be done
    I know you see me
I know you hear me, Lord
