Tolerance is Self-Based; Truth is God-Based

I saw this quote several weeks ago before leaving for vacation and was awe struck by it. There is no author, no credits, just a thought provoking statement:

“Examine what you tolerate” –WOW!

I don’t know about you, but this strikes a cord in my heart.

• Maybe it runs deeps because of the land we have lived in on a daily basis, or because of the people we are surrounded by, or because in God providence He has seen fit to place us among a mindset of ‘tolerance’ to stretch us in ways we’d never image drawings us through personal, daily, God-armor ware in reliance on our Commander and Chief alone; having battle plans drawn up through the Scripture and not self.
• In all honesty, there are days it hasn’t been all that easy! But this I must add, GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

There is a pressure to ‘tolerate’ even among Christians, especially those of a luke-warm temperature.

• To go against such ‘tolerance’ is to be seen as a the opponent.
• To embrace such ‘tolerance’ breeds self-justified-rebellion, the rejection of authority, disobedience to God, a self-proclaimed individual who purposefully determines to destroy his/her opponents personal character or personhood to unsure their personal protection to conceal their true identity for the love of self, power, sin and control; thus their relationship to God (who they ‘claim’) is revealed.

How often are we pressured to accept “tolerance” or “acceptance” or to live in the land of “compliancy” from those whose subtle non-truths of opinions, statements, comments, and accusations are unbiblical?

When reality is given a check, those claiming the “lack of tolerance” or “lighten up, you need to be more complainant in your walk with Christ” are far from the Truth they claim to proclaim to you and others.

Are we any better?

If we say nothing, do nothing in Christ’s name or for His testimony, are we any different? What change(s) for Christ have we made? None!

• In no way I am saying we should be spiteful, legalistic, mean, harsh, unloving or uncaring and spiritually beat-up people with our words or actions and claim holier than thou; for this would not be of Christ, nor would He be pleased with us. All the above characteristics are operating out the flesh, against the very One in whom we are to be putting on!
• What I am saying is this: when we are more concerned about tolerance or acceptance rather than standing on or for God and His Truth that is when we have a serious problem on our hands as individual, as a society, and as a church.
• Tolerance is self-based; Truth is God-based.
