Living Defeated or Victorious: That Decision was Given to You to Make.

This devotional clip was written by David Bowden author of When God Isn’t There. You can read more of this devotional through YouVersion titled Rewire Your Heart (I have inserted a few thoughts as well throughout this devotional; they are italicized in brackets).

When times get really hard it becomes so much easier to sin. (The temptations seem to pull stronger, the lure more frequent.) Psalm 37 is about how to persevere during a really hard time.

The Psalmist, David, writes that wicked people are doing terrible things. How should David and the people respond? David says we should respond with stillness, patience, and faith.

  • But how is that even possible?
  • How can we just sit there and take it?
  • How can we be still when everything is swirling around us?
  • How can we be patient when everything is going wrong?
  • How can we have faith when all hope seems to be lost?

(God has filled the pages of Scripture for us to see, learn, taste in the goodness of Him in the land of the living (Psalm 27), but for today we will only look into one powerful verse. Psalm 37:4 is one of the most beautiful, helpful, and we encouraging passages I know.)

Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

This verse is so helpful for two main reasons.

1) Perseverance and fighting sin don’t have to be a sad affair. We are called to find delight! But where are we to find this delight in such bleak circumstances? We can’t find them in our surroundings. We can’t find them just by looking on the bright side.

We find (true, real) delight in the LORD…when we delight ourselves in Him.

For us as Christians, (one of) the best ways to do this is by repeating (remembering) the Good News of the Gospel to yourself. Jesus has saved you from sin and death (don’t even forget that). He has taken your punishment…(your rightful place on that cross.) You have been reconciled to the Father (forgiven of it all, justified, redeemed). You’ve been made a temple of the living God (an heir). Delight yourself in all God has done for you (praise Him)!

2) The second reason this verse is so helpful is because we get something (isn’t God so good, not only does He forgive us, cleanse us, make us His child, He also lavishes upon us good things). Not only do we not have to be sad, but…we get the desires of our hearts.

What are these desires in our hearts that we will be given in times of trouble? Well, it is the very thing we have been delighting in.

We will get God!

  • No matter the circumstance.
  • No matter the sin.
  • If you delight yourself in the God of the Gospel you will get the God of the Gospel.
  • Revel in Jesus.
  • Jesus will reveal himself to you.

That is how you fight sin in difficult times. Engage your heart in the fight. Delight yourself in God.

There are so many more verses in Scripture that we could comb through today, but this devotional has been such a good reminder that…

  1. We are not defeated for we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us so (Romans 8:37).
  2. God is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
  3. When we draw near to God, He will draw near to us (James 4:8).

Engage your heart in the fight. Delight yourself in God…He delights in you!

What Does God Want?

This devotional clip was written by David Bowden author of When God Isn’t There. You can read more of this devotional through YouVersion titled Rewire Your Heart.

What is God after? What does He want from us? Is He after a song on Sunday or a really good prayer at night? I think we all know the answer is no.

God is after our hearts.

One of the clearest moments in the Bible where we learn this truth is in Isaiah. God is describing through his prophet a siege that is coming upon Jerusalem.

However, no matter how much the people hear of Isaiah’s words and God’s revelation, they will not really listen. They will be like a person who is given a book but cannot open it and like one who is given a book but cannot read (29:11-12).

So why this coming punishment? And why can’t the people understand the visions and warnings from God?

Here is where we get our clear picture of what God is after. Here is the reason.

“Because this people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me” (29:13).

  • God is punishing and blinding His people because they are putting on a show of religion, but their hearts are not in it.
  • They come to God and give Him praise and say all the right words, but God does not have their innermost selves — their hearts.

God wants your heart, not your lips. He wants your affections, passions, desires, and longings. God wants your wants. And he will not be satisfied until he has them.

Why? Because He knows that only when you desire Him will you be desiring something good. And not only will you be desiring something good, in fact the only good, but also the best good. God wants your wants because He wants your good.

And how will He get your heart? Well, how did He plan to get the hearts of His wayward people in Isaiah’s day?

He will do wonderful things (29:14). But these wonderful things aren’t pretty. These are things that bring wonder. Things like punishment and mighty acts of judgement. The reason why people were drawing near to God with their lips but not their hearts was because their fear of God was fake. It was a “commandment taught by men” (29:13).

So God would instill true fear in their hearts. This may sound harsh, but God wanted their hearts. So He would reveal Himself to them in the only way that would change them.

God changes hearts the same way today. He shows himself to us in wonderful ways. And the most wonderful way He has revealed Himself to us is also in judgement and punishment. But this time, the judgement and punishment did not come upon us who deserved it. God’s wrath came upon Jesus, who bore our punishment even though he did not deserve it.

  • Is your heart far from God even though your lips are close to Him?
  • Do you want to change that?
  • Behold Jesus!
  • See how God has revealed Himself to you in Christ!
  • Let the fear and love of God pierce your heart by peering deeply into the truth of the Gospel.

The Power of John 14

Do not let (allow) your heart be troubled; that is to say do not be afraid or become cowardly. Instead, believe confidently in God. Put everything you got in trusting in only Him.

You ask how can this be? I will tell you how this can be:

  • Believe (eternity).
  • Have faith.
  • Hold onto Christ.
  • Rely on Him.
  • Rely on His Word.
  • Keep believing in Jesus Christ.

Why? Why do this? Why believe in what seems invisible, abstract when I can see, smell, taste, hear everything right here, right now? What is the point in trust? I’ve seen more people use the crutch called God.

This is why. Jesus said!

When Jesus saith, mark eternity, His Words will come to pass. It is bound to happen…people will fail, but it is an impossibility for Him to fail. When God speaks, it is, because He is, and that is guaranteed! Nothing, no one, not even yourself could redirect, change, or deter what God hath spoken. We are human, God is not. We do well to not place Him among ourselves and degrade Him for there is no one more than you could trust.

People form ‘crutches’ God doesn’t.

Jesus continues, “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places (mansions). If this wasn’t true, I wouldn’t be telling you so. That is where I am today — I am in process, I am in construction mode preparing your specific homestead just for you. I am overwhelmed with love for you I can not help but build.

Don’t loss hope, one day I am coming back; coming back for each one of you who did not allow your heart to be troubled. Who fought the fearfulness and kick cowardness out of their heart’s door. Who believed in Me confidently. Who trusted Me regardless of themselves, surrounding circumstances, or people because holding onto faith, onto Christ, onto His Word was found more priceless than anything this physical life offered. To you, I will take you home. I will welcome you home and for eternity we shall be together.

Don’t confuse yourself in what I am telling you right now. You know the way because I AM the way. The question is are you going to trust Me or trust yourself? (John 14:1-4)

“Do you love ME?”

Our church has a women’s group called ‘Rooted’ taken from Colossians 2:6-7.

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the LORD, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

It is our desire to walk this earthly life Rooted in Christ because without Him we can do nothing — nothing of eternal value.

I have provided you with a link to that entire Bible Study (via Sway). Just click here on the link: “Do You love ME?”

Below is an excerpt from that lesson.

Apostle Peter 1

Jesus asked Peter a question. “Do you love Me?”

Lovest thou me more than these?

  • Not once.
  • Not twice.
  • But THREE times Jesus asked Peter DO. YOU. LOVE. ME?

Turn to John 21:15—17

  • Jesus physically feed Peter (breakfast).
  • Jesus asked Peter three times – “Do. You. Love. Me? – “Lovest thou me more than these?”
  • We see Jesus was patient with Peter allowing him to respond.
    • This allowed Peter to get to his heart matter.
      • To be honest – with God and self.
    • Jesus listened without interruption.
      • Jesus wanted Peter to get it – Christ above everything.
      • Jesus wanted Peter to own it – to make it his daily life.
      • Jesus wanted Peter to live (do) it – to have Christ his root source; then fulfill.

Heart Hands

…So, what is Phileo?

When Jesus talked about Phileo love it referred to a love as in a friendship, or deep personal affection for a close friend.

Agape love refers to a love that carried the meaning of intense, complete, devoted, sacrificial love or total commitment.

jesus-and-peter-.jpg

…the question begs to be answered: Do you love Christ?

Being obsessed with something or someone usually comes with a negative connotation.

What does it mean to be obsessed? To have the mind excessively preoccupied with a single emotion or topic.

  1. Our obsession(s) – whether right or wrong – dictate our lifestyle.
    • Questioning this –
      • Look at what you place value on [or in].
      • Look at where you spend your time.
        • Time doesn’t lie.
      • Look how or what you spend your money
        • The bank account doesn’t replenish itself.
      • Listen to what you talk about – or don’t talk about.
        • The ears that “hear” you – hear what you love.

A relationship with God simply cannot grow when idols of the heart are manufacturing: when money, sin, activities, favorite “things”, addictions, or commitments pile on top of God.

David Goetz writes, “Too much of the good life ends up being toxic, deforming us spiritually.” A lot of things are good by themselves, but all of it together keeps is from living healthy, fruitful lives for God.

  • Be cautious: Do not assume you are good soil.
  • Be cautious: Do not assume you love God.

May our souls continue to be refresh and renewed in the Spirit day by day. Please feel free to share or comment.

I’d be amiss if I didn’t share a link on the subject of Eternity. If you have any questions please ask. Your eternity depends on it!

Are You a Slough?

So, I looked up the word ‘slough’ — here is what I found.

VERB

  1. Slough something off.
shed or remove (a layer of dead skin).
“a snake sloughs off its old skin” “exfoliate once a week to slough off any dry skin”
    • get rid of (something undesirable or no longer required).
      synonyms:
dispose of, disgard, throw away, throw out, get rid of, toss out, shed, jettison, scrap, cast aside/off, repudiate, abandon, relinquish, drop, dispense with, have done with, reject, shrug off, throw on the scrapheap, chuck (away/out), fling away, dump, ditch, axe, bin, junk, trash, forsake.
      antonyms:
      keep, acquire
    • slough off
(of dead skin) drop off; be shed.
      synonyms: (same as above)
      antonyms: (same as above)
    • slough away/down
(of soil or rock) collapse or slide into a hole or depression.
NOUN
  1. the dropping off of dead tissue from living flesh.
“the drugs can cause blistering and slough”

Truly something to evaluate.

D.A. Carson said, “…we slough toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated.”

We deceive ourselves when the Truth is not in us (1 John 1:8). So, be careful before you cast judgement or fluff off God’s warning.

Should the verb ‘sloughing’ — which is the present act — ever be active/thriving/apart of the daily life, characterization, or decision process of a child of God? I could answer my own question, but time and time again the wrongful answer is revealed when one chooses to little steps of saying “no” to God in our life.

When a child of God ceases to forsake the keeping, acquiring, feasting, conforming, desiring, obeying, living for the cause of Christ, or stops actively putting on Christ — their decision is clear. There active choice states their inward heart’s intent: to live a sloughing life….to shed, remove, dispose of, disgard, throw away, throw out, get rid of, toss out, shed, jettison, scrap, cast aside/off, repudiate, abandon, relinquish, drop, dispense with, have done with, reject, shrug off, throw on the scrapheap, chuck (away/out), fling away, dump, ditch, axe, bin, junk, trash, forsake the very One who gave them His free gift of eternal life, salvation from sin, and a personal relationship with the Creator.

Could this decision be revoked? It sure could. But only through the forgiveness of Jesus Christ along with a willful heart that acknowledges ones sin(s) of the rejection of Christ. A life change, an about–face must happen, inwardly and outwardly. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever — His love for you hasn’t changed. He is calling. He is waiting. He is desiring you — to walk intimately and freely together. He wants to bless you. He is a giver of good things.

So, why slough?

  • Has God become something that is undesirable?
  • Has God ceased to preform for you so you no longer require His services — His quarter ran out?
When we concoct our own idea(s) of God without the involvement of God — meaning our ideals are not anchored in the Word of God — we will be our own leader of deception and the Truth is not in us.
  • Want liberation?
  • Come to Jesus! There is no other way.
  • Holiness doesn’t happen by osmosis.
  • It takes labor — there is profit in all labor (Proverbs 14:23) — but HE is worth every effort, every church service, every verse read, every prayer spoken, every step of obedience, every choice made to glorify Him, every step of faith!
So, are you a ‘slougher’ or not?

I Have Redeemed You

“…I have redeemed you.”

  • Isn’t that powerful?

Sometimes we read the Word of God and it doesn’t grip our soul as it rightfully should; guilty here!

Today, let’s stop, re-read and ponder, “I have redeemed you.

1. Who said it?

The Infinite, Creator God redeemed you. It is mind-blowing to rationalize. We really don’t comprehend the vastness of God’s love for us, but it is so.

  • The reality is humanity (mankind) doesn’t deserve the righteous redemption of God. Adam sinned which brought forth death (sin) into the world and death passed upon all men…that’s you and I. We are separated from God because we have sin.
  • God dealt with Adam and Eve, yet in His mercy and love He didn’t just leave us to rot and die. God hasn’t put the period at the end of the sentence for mankind…yet.

He deemed it so “I have redeemed you.” His actions display His ultimately love on the cross of Calvary. We were given a way back to Himself. We were given a way to redemption, it is called salvation which is through Jesus Christ. We were given a way to commune with God through the power of prayer and reading His Word.

  • Because of Jesus Christ all mankind’s sin can be individually blotted out — one by one, but you must confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised He from the dead. You must call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved. It is His gift is free, but you must ask by placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone to get to heaven.
  • Just as sin separated Adam from God, our sin separates us from God. Christ made a way.

the Light

Darkness loves darkness. Darkness feeds on darkness. It’s a fact. Shine any light, or truth on darkness (that would include a person living in a dark-filled life) and that darkness squirms in discomfort. Darkness hates the truth, it hates to be revealed (that’s why it loves darkness to cloak it’s real purpose); sin hates light. Darkness is a user.

  • That “Light” is Jesus Christ.
  • That “Truth” is God’s Word.

Shine any light source in a dark place, lite a candlestick in a dark room, use the moon to guide you out at sea, turn on a flashlight in the middle of a dark forest and you will see…the Truth (God’s Word) will set you free…you will see (John 8:31-32).

Darkness does not understand the Light, it will reject the Light when revealed, darkness even displays itself as light but claims you once discovered, but the Light is not overpowered by the darkness, the Light is not absorb by the darkness, the Light is not unreceptive to the darkness…the Light shines! For with the Light all may see if they believe in Him, Jesus Christ.

Remember who we said the Light is, Jesus Christ.

  • Do you know who the source of darkness is? Satan, or the devil (same thing). He has great influence upon this world which causes “darkness” in the lives of people. Satan is not your friend. The sin he says will bring you happiness (2 Corinthians 11:14) will be your destruction, because he seeks to destroy (1 Peter 5:8), not save you (Luke 19:10) like the Light does (Jesus Christ). Satan’s day will end, so will darkness. The Light’s day will never end.

You may be living in darkness, you may feel as though your life is dark or there is no way out, you may be consumed by a certain sin, or find yourself filled with guilt or depression…look to the Light! To live in the Light is to truly live (John 10:10).

The darkness only has power over you when you give it power; it doesn’t need to consume or destroy you.

  • Allow the Light (Jesus Christ) to come into your life and give you life. If you have more question click here.

He Loved, It’s Empty. He Lives, He Loves.

How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory
Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Certainly, this is the Son of God

“Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man! When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him” John 19:5-6.

“And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man” Luke 23:44-47.

Certainly, this is the Son of God…

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Galatians 6:9

Refusal is an active choice.

Refusing the lure or temptation to grow weary or become discouraged in our walk with Jesus Christ is also a personal choice. One that is made daily.

Are there times when it seems easier to just throw in the towel spiritually than continue on? Sure, but it doesn’t make us right or righteous!

When we give into spiritual weariness or discouragement it displays where our human eyesight and heart are focused on…and it is not Christ. Our focus could be on people, self, things, or even the very thing we are “doing good” but it is not on Christ. Be watchful!

So, my friends, don’t grow weary or discouraged in serving your wonderful Savior. He has done so much for you –just look where you will be spending eternity! We don’t deserve it, yet He loves us anyway. How can we not serve Him with our life? Your proper time of reaping will come, if you do not give in.

Keep the faith.

Remember who you are serving; God, not man.

Who is your trust in?

Be Careful What You Say

I’ve been doing a bit of pondering on the thought of “Thy Will” this week.

When I say “Thy Will” I am referring to “God’s Will” –lest I be confusing.

  • When I pray “Thy Will” –It is not to myself.
  • When I sing “Thy Will” –It is not to myself.

No, usually when a person states or sings “Thy Will” they are referring to the Creator of the Universe, God the Father. They are not speaking about themselves or referring to themselves.

This got me thinking.

Whenever I utter the words, “Thy Will,” (whether in word form or in song) or when these words formulate in my mind and heart what I am saying is this – no, what I should be realizing I am saying is this:

To do “Thy Will” (God’s Will) requires that I forfeit my will – there is no other way possible to accomplish both. One has to stay; one has to go.

If “my will” hasn’t left, meaning forfeited to God’s Will: surrendering my rights, desires, wants –then “Thy Will” hasn’t happened.

See, it really is either ALL God or no God.

  • You cannot serve two masters. We, even as believers, cannot serve ourselves and God at the same time (even if it ‘seems’ like good works); it just doesn’t work that way. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).
  • God doesn’t want our sacrifices, He wants our heart. Hosea wrote, For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings (6:6). Proverbs 21:3 says, To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”

I have been challenged to be careful in what I say to the Lord. He is listening. He desires my “Thy Will,” but if it is tainted with me, He knows. In the end, I am the only one that is living fooled.

If you do not know Jesus — this is for you:

  • First, thank you for visiting this blog. I pray for you daily. I know we haven’t met but my heart longs for you and for your soul. Salvation in Jesus Christ is the most important decision you will ever make. One that I made many years ago that change the course of my life for eternity. God is real. Eternity is real. I want to see you in heaven, but more than me, God wants you to be His child. I left you a link (it is from my blog) called Eternity. I hope you read it. I am here if you have question about God. But more importantly, God is here if you call upon His name (Acts 16:31).
  • To conclude today’s blog: It isn’t that God is a tyrant, no, it’s quite the opposite. God, the Creator knows His creation from the inside-out and we need to look no further than ourselves –He made you! We could fill pages upon pages of His love for us –the Cross being His ultimate sacrifice for us! He desires to have a personal relationship with His creation, with you. The choice is yours.

a Tribute to My Mom

I think of my Mother today.

January 10th marks 65 years on this earth for her. She has been through a whirlwind of trials and joys, blessings and sorrows throughout her sixty-five years, but it hasn’t been until the past two that I personally have seen the woman that she is.

Sure, I know my mom. I could tell you funny-crazy stories of growing up in our house. I could share with you when she wasn’t happy with me when I disappointed her, or when she cried with me, when she taught me how to cook or make monkey bread, or when she protected me from the world or certain people, or when she called me by my nickname in the middle of church as a teenager, or when she…the list goes on.

But over the past two years, though it hasn’t been easy by a long shot, Mom has shone the brightest when it has been the darkest for her. You see, the love of her earthly-life, my Dad, passed away unexpectedly, suddenly one evening while serving his Lord and Savior. No one knew God was longing for his return home and on July 30, 2016, God said, “Come home, Claude.”

Whether you know it or not, you will; life is a vapor (James 4:14).

  • At times, it is still hard to comprehend the reality of the milliseconds of life that occurred — here, on Earth, then standing face to face with Jesus Christ.
  • I don’t claim to get it, as a family though, we live it.

(Dad & Mom: the pics just shows you their love for one another)

Dad was 64 years, 1 months and 3 days old. Today, I rejoice that Mom is 65 years, 0 months, and 0 days! I am thankful she is here, but even more, I am proud of my Mom.

I know she has had some mighty tough days, made some pretty hard decisions, cried many nights to sleep; but she has also chosen to remain in Christ.

She didn’t then nor does she know as to why Dad passed away, other than it was his God-time. But she made a choice: a choice to cling. Cling to Christ, not to self, to people, or things, but to God’s loving control for her whether she understood Him completely or not.

I have seen her walk with Christ, talk with Christ, and allowed Him to fill, strengthen, carry, uplift, hold, soothe, triumph, comfort, and win battles for her. And if that isn’t enough, in her pain, she helps others walk through their valley.

Death, no, for Dad lives. Sure we had other plans, but because we have hope, eternal life, have we a glorious reunion awaiting.

So Mom, this is really for you. Don’t cry. It is like Proverbs 31:28 says, “Her children rise up, and call her blessed. Thank you for putting Christ first even when nothing made sense and when it did make sense. Thank you for trusting Christ first before your own self and resting, then waiting in Him even when it took humanly –way too long. Your example shines as the candles on your cake today! 😊

Happy 65th Birthday!

We love you!

Philippians 3:12-21

12 Not that I have already obtained it [this goal of being Christlike] or have already been made perfect, but I actively press on so that I may take hold of that [perfection] for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me His own. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 All of us who are mature [pursuing spiritual perfection] should have this attitude. And if in any respect you have a different attitude, that too God will make clear to you. 16 Only let us stay true to what we have already attained. 17 Brothers and sisters, together follow my example and observe those who live by the pattern we gave you. 18 For there are many, of whom I have often told you, and now tell you even with tears, who live as enemies of the cross of Christ [rejecting and opposing His way of salvation], 19 whose fate is destruction, whose god is their belly [their worldly appetite, their sensuality, their vanity], and whose glory is in their shame—who focus their mind on earthly and temporal things. 20 But [we are different, because] our citizenship is in heaven. And from there we eagerly await [the coming of] the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21 who, by exerting that power which enables Him even to subject everything to Himself, will [not only] transform [but completely refashion] our earthly bodies so that they will be like His glorious resurrected body.

My active choice to press–on is not selfish ambitious, but rather a deepening awareness that my citizenship lays elsewhere, in Heaven. Therefore, with this reckoning, I am different then this present world describes life to be lived. I should want to live different, living full in Christ.

A willing, obedient soul is being completely refashioned (transformed) from within. One glories day that soul will have it’s glorious resurrected body through Jesus Christ…what a day that will be! But until then, what a day it is to be complete in Christ walking with Him, being fueled through the engrafted work of Jesus Christ.

Are you being changed from the inside out or the outside in? There’s a difference. It’s easy to say, “I’m a Christian.”

2019 has begun. We have 365 days in front of us. 2019 needs nothing but Christ front and centered. In our life, in our goals, whatever it may be. As He remains front and centered, His plans will then begin to unfold and unravel keeping us in the center of His will…and that is the best place to be!

2019 isn’t about us, neither was 2018 for that matter, it’s about Christ, Christ in us, the wonder working power of what Christ can do and will do in a life of a willing soul.

Are you willing? He is!

Wonderment & Ugliness

  • The wonder of it all is that Jesus died for me and for you! His love had no boundary then nor does it today. His love is unchangeable. His love is the pinnacle, example of what true love is. His love for mankind: to restore fellowship between man (creation) and Himself (Creator).
  • This is only the beginning. We can never experience God fully until we untaintedly see how disgusting, filthy and repulsing our sin is to thee righteous and holy God — my sin separates me from God! It is not God’s lack of love or kindness, but my sin.
  • When we begin to understand how incredibly ugly our sin is we start to fathom the depths of our salvation through Jesus Christ. We begin to have sight into how deeply we need God, His salvation. Our eyes are opened to our incredible need for salvation through Jesus Christ and we ask (https://inchristiamshe.com/eternity/).
  • “No one can truly know the unimaginable wonder of salvation until they have truly felt the unbearable weight of their sin.”
  • Stand in awe and wonder! Live fully in Jesus Christ (John 10:10). Salvation is only the beginning of the journey!
  • Have you thanked Him?

Special thank you to Joe Henson III for allowing me to use his quote! May the Lord bless you!

“I will be found” saith the Lord.

We could talk about the various reasons why this passage would be offensive or encouraging to someone, but we are not traveling down that road today.

We are going to focus on the passage…on God and not ourselves.

There is great release, triumphant victory through God’s power and righteousness. He is God alone! None shall over take Him, command Him, defeat Him or become Him. God is God. Yet even in His awesomeness, grandness, vast greatness and power, God desires to have a personal and intimate relationship with mankind…with you!

  • But, mankind has to ask Him.
  • You have to personally ask Him!
  • You have to personally seek Him!

It may sound hard, but in reality it isn’t because the Lord said, “I will be found” the hardest part is getting past ourselves.

First, we must realize it is our sin that separates us from God, not God’s lack of love for mankind…not God’s lack of love for you. He demonstrated that love while we were yet sinners. If you have more questions on this, please read https://inchristiamshe.com/eternity/, it will help.

It is free, but our innermost being (our soul; who we really are) must desire Him more than ourself, more than our own sin. When this begins to sprout are ability to seek, ask, call begins to happen. It is a process, remember it won’t happen overnight, but guaranteed, you will find Him! God never plays shell games with us. What He says in His Word, who His character is — He cannot violate Himself (His Word); He always the same yesterday, today, and forever. God is God!

Second, God is in the business of answering. He deeply desires a deep, intimate, one-on-one, personal relationship with each human being…that includes you!

Because of His great love for you and I, we become especially reminded this season, but God is not bound by seasons or holidays.

  • How’s your God & man process going?
  • Is it dead? Nothing happening?
  • Is it suffering? Or do you only go to Him when you need or want something?
  • Is it alive? Is it in a process of striving to seek and search, call and hear? The process of calling, going, following, becoming, obeying (submission), walking with the One and true God, Jesus Christ our Lord, is beyond anything this world could offer us…now or in own eternal state.

Where you are today, God hasn’t change. He is waiting for you! The choice is yours.

Nothing is More Real

Because I Have Now…

Because I have now…my lips will praise You; because I am not promised the next.

“Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches” Psalm 63:3-6.

Hope you have a Christcentered day,

In Christ I am SHE {Saved. Hopeful. Empowered.}
