Tolerance is Self-Based; Truth is God-Based

I saw this quote several weeks ago before leaving for vacation and was awe struck by it. There is no author, no credits, just a thought provoking statement:

“Examine what you tolerate” –WOW!

I don’t know about you, but this strikes a cord in my heart.

  • Maybe it runs deeps because of the land we have lived in on a daily basis, or because of the people we are surrounded by, or because in God providence He has seen fit to place us among a mindset of ‘tolerance’ to stretch us in ways we’d never image drawings us through personal, daily, God-armor ware in reliance on our Commander and Chief alone; having battle plans drawn up through the Scripture and not self.
  • In all honesty, there are days it hasn’t been all that easy! But this I must add, GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

There is a pressure to ‘tolerate’ even among Christians, especially those of a luke-warm temperature.

  • To go against such ‘tolerance’ is to be seen as a the opponent.
  • To embrace such ‘tolerance’ breeds self-justified-rebellion, the rejection of authority, disobedience to God, a self-proclaimed individual who purposefully determines to destroy his/her opponents personal character or personhood to unsure their personal protection to conceal their true identity for the love of self, power, sin and control; thus their relationship to God (who they ‘claim’) is revealed.

How often are we pressured to accept “tolerance” or “acceptance” or to live in the land of “compliancy” from those whose subtle non-truths of opinions, statements, comments, and accusations are unbiblical?

When reality is given a check, those claiming the “lack of tolerance” or “lighten up, you need to be more complainant in your walk with Christ” are far from the Truth they claim to proclaim to you and others.

Are we any better?

If we say nothing, do nothing in Christ’s name or for His testimony, are we any different? What change(s) for Christ have we made? None!

  • In no way I am saying we should be spiteful, legalistic, mean, harsh, unloving or uncaring and spiritually beat-up people with our words or actions and claim holier than thou; for this would not be of Christ, nor would He be pleased with us. All the above characteristics are operating out the flesh, against the very One in whom we are to be putting on!
  • What I am saying is this: when we are more concerned about tolerance or acceptance rather than standing on or for God and His Truth that is when we have a serious problem on our hands as individual, as a society, and as a church.
  • Tolerance is self-based; Truth is God-based.

Doubt the Truth? Start reading the book of John, I John, II John, III John, read the In Christ I am SHE page called Eternity.

You can know the Truth and the TRUTH will set you free. (John 8:32)

Whose Got Your Root System?

Much Fruit

“God isn‘t satisfied with temporary results. He‘s in the business of permanent change. He‘s not looking for a month, or a year or a decade, of you growing more like Jesus and pursuing the things He calls you to do. He‘s looking for a lifetime impact, a generational impact, and an eternal impact. Abundant, enduring fruitfulness is the mandate on your life. Ultimately, enduring fruitfulness in your life and the rest of the body of Christ is the key to seeing nations transformed, cities impacted, and culture shaped. But abundant, enduring fruitfulness will only happen, Jesus says, if you “remain in” Him.”
Rooted by Banning Leibscher

In John 15:5-8 it says, “I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken off] branch, and withers and dies; and they gather such branches and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.”

The new year is fast approaching. I cannot help but think of all those new resolutions that people will be making, promising to self, to others, and even to God stated they will “do better, be better, live better” in 2018. Are some well intentioned and truly kept, sure. Are many lost, unattainable through self or become a discouragement, they sure do!

So, here’s a few thoughts the Lord has been working in my own heart:

  • Maybe instead of promising earthly resolutions to self, others, or even to God, we should soulfully with prayer consider our spiritual state more highly over our earthly state for God sees us as eternal, and so should we.
  • God is looking for your lifetime, not your year resolution.
  • God is looking for your biblical generational impact for Him, not your “I had a good day” today impact.
  • God is looking to us to make an eternal impact starting from within spreading from without…with every person we come in contact with, with every family member, with every child we have in our home, with every soul!
  • God isn’t satisfied with temporal and neither should we.
  • Abundant, enduring fruitfulness is the mandate on your life.
  • Ultimately, God-fruitfulness lived out is key to seeing individuals, families, and nations transformed; seeing cities impacted, and culture shaped…and it begins with YOU! But abundant, enduring fruitfulness will only happen, Jesus says, if you “remain in” Him.”

So my friend, who are you remaining in?

  • Do you want your life to count for Christ or not? We cannot have it both ways.
  • The choice is up to you.
  • Choose wisely what you leave behind and what you leave for eternity count!

Soul Account: Are you Ready?

This one verse alone could give the shivers of fear and rebuke down one’s spine because they know God isn’t first in their life; or it brings a comforting sigh of relief knowing that one day it will all be made right, because God sees. God knows.

  • Which one are you?
  • Are you preparing? Are you investing, shaping, inhaling, breathing, vibrating, mediating, giving, proclaiming, testifying in God? If so, praise the LORD, my friend! Keep that faith. Keep up a God-centered, Christ-focused heart, mind, and soul my brothers and sisters in Christ! I know you’d be the first to admit, but…”I’m not perfect!” that’s right, we aren’t, but you are willing and obedient–and God is pleased and SMILING when He sees you!

Let me ask the question again…Which one are you? Because if you are not the above my friend, why not? I ask seriously, why not?.

  • There is nothing longer than eternity.
  • Go ahead. Try it. Start counting, I dare you.
  • You will never reach it….and that is where your soul’s destination will be for all eternity either one of two places: the lake of fire or Heaven.

If you do not know where your eternal state lies, you can have that assurance today! Please do not hestitate. Eternity is longer than the here and now. Stop reading this blog and go to Eternity page to find out more about God’s eternal gift for you. If you would like, you may email me at thewoodruff5@yahoo.com concerning salvation.

If you are reading on…I can only presume that you are a child of God, but I must ask the question once again.

  • Which one are you?
  • Are you preparing? If not, why not?
  • What is hindering you?
  • What is taking or has taken the place of God in your life?
  • The need is just as great for YOU as it is for those who need Christ, and for those who are already walking in Christ…because that’s just it: We NEED Christ!
  • Let me explain. You are a child of God. That is fabulous and I praise the Lord that you are. But being a lukewarm Christian is not fabulous nor is it something that is pleasing to God. Just read Revelations 3.
  • There is something you will need to do to turn the tide off self and back onto Christ. To not walk in obedience, submission, willfulness, and love to/for the Father (God) is to live in rebellion (sin) against Him. You must:
  1. Get on your knees before your Heavenly Father. Ask Him to forgive you.
  2. Confess to the Lord those things you have allowed to enter in that have become more important than your walk with God,
  3. Confess to the Lord those things you have allowed or even used as excuses to take you away from serving and worshiping your God,
  4. Confess to the Lord those things you have placed above, loved, or desired more than loving your God,
  5. Confess to the Lord those things you have allowed to enter in that have hindered your testimony, the cause of Christ, His name and reputation,
  6. Plead with the Lord to create in you a clean heart and to renew a right spirit within you. To restore joy of your salvation (Psalm 51:10, 12; Isaiah 29:15-16),
  7. Ask the Lord to forgive you for putting things or people (including self) over Himself. You will never regret His love, forgiveness, or restoration!
  • You can start afresh today in your commitment to Christ.
  • Choose whom you will serve TODAY to begin laying your treasures in Heaven rather than here on earth (Joshua 24:14-15; Matthew 6:19-21). Eternity is worth it all for Christ is worth it all!

“The Sweetest Gift”| Comfort for Those Left Behind

I came across this song tonight and had to share. May it be a comfort to your soul.

“The Sweetest Gift” written by Craig Aven

I’m not going to lie.
Christmas really hurts this time
Cause you’re not here to celebrate with me.
Tears fill my eyes.
And memories flood my mind,
As I place your ornament upon our tree.
Although this year I have a broken heart,
It gives me hope and joy as I remember where you are.

Chorus:
You’re with the Son of God.
You’re with the Prince of Peace.
You’re with the one we’re celebrating
And that thought amazes me.
Sometimes I still break down,
Grieving that we’re apart,
But the sweetest gift is knowing where you are.
You’re with the Son of God.

Got your picture in a frame
And a stocking with your name.
Oh God knows it’s been hard letting go.
And I can’t bring you back,
But I’ll see you again.
And oh, that thought is healing to my soul.
I’ll miss making angels with you in the snow.
I guess instead you will be singing with them
All around God’s throne.

Chorus

And I know the Christmas season
Was your favorite time of year.
You loved to help us decorate our tree.
But now that you’re with Jesus,
I can’t imagine how you feel
Cause He’s the one who bled and died
Upon the tree for you and me.

Chorus

“I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord” Psalm 27:13-14 (amp).
