Rooted: Greater Faith & Rest
It‘s important to know there are two different kinds of pressures you will encounter in this growth process. One kind is from God and the other is not [pretty simple, right?]
You can recognize these two pressures by the direction in which they push you.
1. God is always going to be inviting, nudging, and challenging you to step into greater faith and rest.
2. The Enemy, however, is going to push you to step into fear and ungodly striving by trying to make things happen in your timing, through your own wisdom and effort rather than God‘s.
Faith is found in rest, and the Enemy will do anything to get you to buy into his pressure so you will be taken out of that God-rest. Learning to resist this pressure, [that is not from God], is key to faithful stewardship.
Psalm 4:8 says, “In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will both like down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.”
(excerpts taken from Rooted by Banning Liebscher)
Knowing, trusting, then acting in faith = My God’s got it, therefore, through Him, I can rest in peace, safety, assurance and even sleep!
Now that’s a contrast from a worry-filled-selfish life, isn’t it!?!?
- Who’s holding your faith, friend?
- We cannot serve two master. It never works.
