Be Careful What You Say

I’ve been doing a bit of pondering on the thought of “Thy Will” this week.

When I say “Thy Will” I am referring to “God’s Will” –lest I be confusing.

  • When I pray “Thy Will” –It is not to myself.
  • When I sing “Thy Will” –It is not to myself.

No, usually when a person states or sings “Thy Will” they are referring to the Creator of the Universe, God the Father. They are not speaking about themselves or referring to themselves.

This got me thinking.

Whenever I utter the words, “Thy Will,” (whether in word form or in song) or when these words formulate in my mind and heart what I am saying is this – no, what I should be realizing I am saying is this:

To do “Thy Will” (God’s Will) requires that I forfeit my will – there is no other way possible to accomplish both. One has to stay; one has to go.

If “my will” hasn’t left, meaning forfeited to God’s Will: surrendering my rights, desires, wants –then “Thy Will” hasn’t happened.

See, it really is either ALL God or no God.

  • You cannot serve two masters. We, even as believers, cannot serve ourselves and God at the same time (even if it ‘seems’ like good works); it just doesn’t work that way. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).
  • God doesn’t want our sacrifices, He wants our heart. Hosea wrote, For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings (6:6). Proverbs 21:3 says, To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.”

I have been challenged to be careful in what I say to the Lord. He is listening. He desires my “Thy Will,” but if it is tainted with me, He knows. In the end, I am the only one that is living fooled.

In Christ I am SHE {Saved. Hopeful. Empowered.}

If you do not know Jesus — this is for you:

  • First, thank you for visiting this blog. I pray for you daily. I know we haven’t met but my heart longs for you and for your soul. Salvation in Jesus Christ is the most important decision you will ever make. One that I made many years ago that change the course of my life for eternity. God is real. Eternity is real. I want to see you in heaven, but more than me, God wants you to be His child. I left you a link (it is from my blog) called Eternity. I hope you read it. I am here if you have question about God. But more importantly, God is here if you call upon His name (Acts 16:31).
  • To conclude today’s blog: It isn’t that God is a tyrant, no, it’s quite the opposite. God, the Creator knows His creation from the inside-out and we need to look no further than ourselves –He made you! We could fill pages upon pages of His love for us –the Cross being His ultimate sacrifice for us! He desires to have a personal relationship with His creation, with you. The choice is yours.
