America & My Soul

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:31-32).

“O Lord, You are truly the One who has made America great and the One who has sustained her. Your Word provides the answers to our need for civility, yet a godless society has neither knowledge of nor care for Your Word. We who know the Truth have been too complacent and too overly concerned with our own pursuits of the American dream. While not all will turn to You, we have drifted from the commitment to do all we can to reach as many as we can.

Lord, we pray for revival in America thinking that the revival is for the other person when in reality it not revival that is needed: it is repentance that is needed. Repentance for our own lack of commitment, for our own carelessness in living out Your Word, for our own hardness of heart that has so easily dismissed the spiritual needs of our fellow countrymen.

We pray that you would bring those who have committed the criminal acts of these last days to justice. We pray you would restore peace and civility. We pray you would forgive our complacency. We pray that you would put a burning passion in our soul for the lost and an effectiveness for reaching them as we passionately pursue You.

In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen!”
