“I will be Found” saith the Lord (pt. 2)*

On Thursday’s (12.27.2018) blog entitled, “I will be Found, saith the Lord,” we talked about Jeremiah 29:13-14a. Now let’s talk about some practical ways we can put into practice what we discussed:

How do we seek God? Here are just a few ways to get you started:

1. Read His Word. You cannot know God or seek His will if you are not in His Word. This means you must spend time daily in the Word of God. He cannot speak to you if you are not within His manual.

  • There is a warning here. To know God, to understand His will or plan for your life, to begin to comprehend who God is and what He desires of us doesn’t come from another’s interpretation of the Bible, ideas, or (yes, I going to say it) self-help book written about the Bible — it comes from God’s Word alone. Now don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of fabulous writers out there who truly love God and it is displayed and seen throughout the pages they have written. I love reading books like that, looking up different translations, reading devotionals, but nothing —NOTHING–can or should take the place of God’s Word. That includes reading it. God’s Word is the final word.
  • 2 Peter 3:18, Hebrews 6:1, Luke 17:5, Luke 8:14-15, Colossians 2:6-7, Romans 5:20-21, 2 Peter 1:5-8, Ephesians 4:20-24, 1 Timothy 4:11-15.

2. Purposefully set, schedule, and become a faithful intertwined part of a Bible, believing, preaching the whole council of God, church. A church where God’s principles are valued first, practiced first and above man’s. That man’s traditions do not supersede God’s law. Where expository preaching is it’s main staple (the breaking down of verse by verse with biblical explanations of that passage). This doesn’t mean topical, narratives, or dramas, etc, are wrong, on the contrary, they have there place and purpose, but expository preaching is where you will grow spiritually!

  • Church is not for our own selfish pleasure or gratification. Church is the place where we have been given opportunity to come together as the body of Christ to worship, praise, glorify God (as He rightfully deserves), as a corporate unified body of believers. It is a place where we are given the opportunity to use our God-given spiritual gift(s) for Christ for His glory and to be a blessing and minister to others.
  • Serve God by using your God given talent(s). If you question your spiritual gift(s), there is one to find out –start serving.
  • God’s gift to you is to be used within His church. It is not for ourself, for our own usage but to give back to God and minister to others. Do you know what your spiritual gift is? If so, are you using it for Christ?
  • Hebrews 10:24-25, Matthew 18:20, Ephesians 4:11-13, Romans 10:17, Matthew 16:18, Acts 9:31-32.

3. Pray. The power of prayer is so underrated, degraded, misused, and unloved. Most often, we find that prayer is not worth our time –whether at home or prayer meetings at church. Prayer is our telephone line to God, our life line is to the God of the universe. It is our opportunity to intercede on the behalf of others. Prayer is no small weapon in the face of adversity, it is your weapon. It is also a comfort when we don’t have the words to speak and Christ intercedes for us to the Father. Prayer is power. Prayer is strength. Prayer is wisdom is action. Prayer is not for weaklings.

  • Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Colossians 4:2, Jeremiah 29:12, Psalm 145:18, Jeremiah 33:3, Hebrews 4:16, John 14:13, James 1:6, Matthew 6:6, Psalm 18:6, James 5:16.

4. Memorize the Word of God. To memorize is to have another God-tool, like prayer. In the peace times of life, taking the time to fill up (memorize) on God’s Word for the battle times of life that will come. A wise man for sees the future…meaning prepares…fills up before battle so when the battle comes, he/she is ready.

  • Psalm 119:11, Colossians 3:16, Psalm 37:31, John 15:2&7, Joshua 1:8, John 15:4-9, John 8:31, Galatians 2:20, Colossians 2:6, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 3:17-19, 1 John 4:13.

To think you will fill up when the battle is raging, think again.

Our United States soldier prepares for battle. Our military prepares with trainings, exercises, even mock battles in specific situations to help prepare for the real deal. They prepare. They take to prepare. Preparation is vital.

They are ready for battle.

Are you preparing for your real deal (2 Corinthians 9:6-10, James 1:22)?

*I do apologize. This post was prescheduled but I wasn’t completely finished. We lost internet connection for while and this blog post launched out as scheduled. Since then I have added Scripture verses and a picture. Thank you so much for your patience! Lord bless!

“I will be found” saith the Lord.

We could talk about the various reasons why this passage would be offensive or encouraging to someone, but we are not traveling down that road today.

We are going to focus on the passage…on God and not ourselves.

There is great release, triumphant victory through God’s power and righteousness. He is God alone! None shall over take Him, command Him, defeat Him or become Him. God is God. Yet even in His awesomeness, grandness, vast greatness and power, God desires to have a personal and intimate relationship with mankind…with you!

  • But, mankind has to ask Him.
  • You have to personally ask Him!
  • You have to personally seek Him!

It may sound hard, but in reality it isn’t because the Lord said, “I will be found” the hardest part is getting past ourselves.

First, we must realize it is our sin that separates us from God, not God’s lack of love for mankind…not God’s lack of love for you. He demonstrated that love while we were yet sinners. If you have more questions on this, please read https://inchristiamshe.com/eternity/, it will help.

It is free, but our innermost being (our soul; who we really are) must desire Him more than ourself, more than our own sin. When this begins to sprout are ability to seek, ask, call begins to happen. It is a process, remember it won’t happen overnight, but guaranteed, you will find Him! God never plays shell games with us. What He says in His Word, who His character is — He cannot violate Himself (His Word); He always the same yesterday, today, and forever. God is God!

Second, God is in the business of answering. He deeply desires a deep, intimate, one-on-one, personal relationship with each human being…that includes you!

Because of His great love for you and I, we become especially reminded this season, but God is not bound by seasons or holidays.

  • How’s your God & man process going?
  • Is it dead? Nothing happening?
  • Is it suffering? Or do you only go to Him when you need or want something?
  • Is it alive? Is it in a process of striving to seek and search, call and hear? The process of calling, going, following, becoming, obeying (submission), walking with the One and true God, Jesus Christ our Lord, is beyond anything this world could offer us…now or in own eternal state.

Where you are today, God hasn’t change. He is waiting for you! The choice is yours.
