Living Inside Our Means = Freedom

Times of both plenty and want mark our lives, but wisdom tells us to pay our debts, live with what we have, don’t spend what we don’t have, and make room for generosity.

  • Our culture attempts (and does a good job at it) to convince us “we need it” “we deserve it” “we have got it have it“.
  • They also say that debt is an acceptable way to live because our hunt for the latest gadget and gizmo is deserved (not warning the consumer that they are the ones who suffer when swallowed in payments/debts they can barely pay).
  • But if a debt is building then our savings and our means of giving opportunity dwindles, it is time we take stock of what our checkbook and monthly Visa statements look like.
  • Take a hard look to see what kind of purchases fill your registers.is wisdom, to not it to live foolishly.
  • What you see will reveal your heart’s passion. Be honest with yourself! You just may need to confess and ask God to forgive your love of want.

It’s easy to slip into a pool of jealousy over what others around us have, but it never pleases God, never. And if you didn’t know, the one who losses in this jealous is you!

Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed. Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law” (Romans 13:7‭-‬8).

In Christ I am SHE {Saved. Hopeful. Empowered.}

Excerpts of today’s thoughts come from a devotional called, ‘Flourish: 21 Ways to Thrive Before 45’ by Tiffany Bluhm which is available on the YouVersion app. The Bible version used today is the ESV. May God be glorified and our hearts turned to Him.
